## Carroll Community College Athletics
Maryland Sports Blog’s Carroll Community College Athletics category provides coverage of the **Carroll Lynx**, one of Maryland’s growing junior college athletic programs. Based in Westminster, Maryland, Carroll competes as a member of the **National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), NJCAA Region 20 and the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO)**.
Carroll Community College launched intercollegiate athletics in **2019**, initially competing in men’s and women’s cross country and soccer. The foundation for the program began several years earlier, and the introduction of athletics also brought the creation of the **Lynx mascot and athletic identity**. Since its inaugural season, Carroll has steadily expanded its athletic offerings and opportunities for student-athletes from Carroll County and throughout Maryland.
Today, Lynx Athletics includes **men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track and field, and women’s volleyball**, with teams competing at different NJCAA divisional levels depending on the sport. Carroll emphasizes developing student-athletes academically first while promoting competition, leadership, integrity, respect and sportsmanship.
The young program has already started producing significant accomplishments. During the fall of 2025, Carroll women’s soccer reached the **Region 20 semifinals for the first time**, while the men’s cross country team finished as **Region 20 runner-up** and made its first team appearance at the NJCAA National Championship. Jesse Gresh also became the **first Carroll runner to win the Region 20 men’s cross country championship**.
Carroll is also working toward expanding its athletic infrastructure. Plans for the **Lynx Athletic Field** include a turf stadium field, seating, lighting and a quarter-mile NJCAA-approved track, along with additional grass fields designed for practices, tournaments, tryouts and other athletic events.

Jen Vasquez scored twice as Carroll Community College Women’s Soccer opened its third season with a 3-1 road victory over Howard Community College.
Ben Davidson tied for fourth on the first day, while Adam Slivosky shot 87 in both rounds for the Carroll Community College Men’s Golf Team at the 2026 NJCAA Region 20 Golf Tournament.
Caroline Vogelsang led the Carroll Community College Lynx Track & Field Team to six school records at Millersville, setting marks in the 800 and 5,000 meters.
Carroll Lynx Men’s Track and Field athlete Caroline Vogelsang won the women’s 400-meter hurdles rerun at the Carpenter-Case Invitational and set the Lynx record.
