Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn fields the Cavaliers in the MIAA and IAAM, two of Maryland’s strongest private-school athletic associations. Spalding has built championship programs across its department, highlighted by four consecutive MIAA A Conference football championships through 2025 and four MIAA A Conference baseball crowns in five seasons through 2026. Wrestling won the 2026 MIAA title, while the dance team captured its first national championship in 2026. The school’s notable athletes include longtime NBA forward and 2004 McDonald’s All-American Rudy Gay, NBA forward Cam Whitmore, professional soccer player Christine Nairn, professional lacrosse player Kyle Dixon, NFL running back Julius Chestnut and long-drive champion Kyle Berkshire.
