South River High School in Edgewater fields the Seahawks in Anne Arundel County and MPSSAA competition. The program’s state championship history includes field hockey titles in 2001, 2004, 2016 and 2017; boys lacrosse championships in 2009, 2012 and 2014; and the school’s first baseball crown in 2013. South River boys soccer added another state title in 2023, and the wrestling program developed into a state dual-meet contender with regional championships in 2017, 2022 and 2023. The Seahawks are known for competitive programs across the fall, winter and spring seasons.
