Broadneck High School in Arnold competes as the Bruins in Anne Arundel County and the MPSSAA. The program has a deep championship tradition, especially in girls lacrosse, which won five consecutive Class 4A state titles through 2025. Broadneck football reached the state championship game in 2003 and again in 2023, while the school has also produced state champions in sports including golf and cheerleading. Notable Bruins include Matthew Centrowitz Jr., the 2016 Olympic gold medalist in the 1,500 meters; Olympic sailor Farrah Hall; and former NFL punter Brooks Barnard.
