Chesapeake High School in Pasadena competes as the Cougars. Its state championship history includes baseball titles in 1997, 2014 and 2022; seven softball crowns between 1988 and 2008; wrestling championships in 1981, 2000 and 2002; and a boys soccer title in 1998. The school’s early-1990s softball run established one of the strongest dynasties in Anne Arundel County athletics. Notable alumna Lauren Gibson became a standout softball player at Tennessee and represented the United States in international competition.
