With Erskine ailing Caps recall Schilling
The Washington Capitals have recalled Cameron Schilling from the Hershey Bears for tonight’s game against the Boston Bruins. John Erksine had a rough game against the Philadelphia Flyers and needs a day of rest.

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have recalled defenseman Cameron Schilling from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Schilling, 25, recorded 12 points (three goals, nine assists), 81 penalty minutes and a plus-13 rating in 51 games with Hershey this season. In 128 career AHL games with the Bears, Schilling collected 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) and 156 penalty minutes. The Carmel, Ind., native has played in one NHL game when he made his NHL/Capitals debut on March 12, 2013 against the Carolina Hurricanes. Schilling played in 144 collegiate games during his four-year career with Miami University, collecting 57 points (eight goals, 49 assists) and 155 penalty minutes. The 6’2”, 204-pound blueliner was a member of two NCAA All-Regional Teams (2008, 2010) and helped Miami win the 2010-11 CCHA Championship. Schilling was originally signed by Washington as an undrafted free agent on March 27, 2012.
