From Andrew Golden of the Washington Post:

On Friday, the Nationals finalized their coaching staff for the upcoming season. It includes Gerardo Parra and Ricky Gutierrez, who were already with the organization but working in different roles. Parra will serve as first base coach and Gutierrez as third base coach. Two others will join the reshaped staff: Miguel Cairo as bench coach and Chris Johnson as an assistant hitting coach.

Manager Dave Martinez has spoken highly of Cairo, and the two have a strong relationship — they played together with Tampa Bay in 1998 and 1999. Cairo was most recently the New York Mets’ minor league infield coordinator and was the Chicago White Sox bench coach for three seasons prior. Johnson, 39, held the same role with the White Sox in 2023. He played eight seasons in the majors with five different organizations.
