No. 11 Howard Community College men’s soccer defeated Frederick Community College 8-0 on Sept. 24, 2026, at Dragons Turf Field in Columbia, Maryland. Yeabsira Tesfaye scored in the fourth, seventh and 42nd minutes for his second straight hat trick as Howard Community College improved to 7-1-1.
Howard Community College led 4-0 at halftime and finished the match with 31 shots, including 17 on goal. Frederick Community College recorded three shots and two shots on goal as the game ended under the mercy rule.
Yeabsira Tesfaye Sparks Early Howard Community College Lead
Tesfaye scored twice inside the opening seven minutes before Carson Feeser added a goal to give Howard Community College a 3-0 advantage before the 10-minute mark. Tesfaye completed his hat trick in the 42nd minute, sending the Dragons into halftime with a four-goal lead.
The match was relocated from Dragon Stadium to Dragons Turf Field because of field conditions. Howard Community College maintained its control after the break and added four more goals.
Howard Community College Adds Four Second-Half Goals
Eben Koffi scored in the 55th minute, and Kiar Sani followed with a goal off a deflection in the 58th minute. Biruk Yitayew scored in the 61st minute to make it 7-0 before Koffi added his second goal in the 69th minute.
Yitayew recorded three assists, while Sani and Feeser each had two. Lucas Britos, Sani, Feeser and Yitayew each recorded five shots, and Alejandro Dealvarez made two saves. Angel Giron-Ramos assisted on Feeser’s goal.

Howard Community College combined a fast start with sustained pressure to complete its second consecutive eight-goal performance. Tesfaye’s second straight hat trick led the result, while the Dragons’ 31-3 advantage in shots and 17-2 edge in shots on goal illustrated the one-sided match.
Howard Community College next faces Anne Arundel Community College on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. in a rematch of the previous season’s Region 20 semifinals.
