Ravens report card versus the Browns: The defense and special teams
If you missed the report card on the offense here it is.
Defensive line: The line held up well against the Cleveland Browns running attack, they only allowed 73 total yards. The line needed to pressure the Browns better as they only had two sacks. Terrence Cody played well in his return to action. Grade B
Linebackers: Terrell Suggs and Daryl Smith continue to play lights out, they had the Ravens two sacks. Jameel McClain also played, the linebacker crew has played very well. Elvis Dumervil did not record any stats which is not good, the Ravens need more from him. Grade B
Secondary: The Ravens secondary allowed Jason Campbell to throw three touchdown passes and did not intercept any passes. The secondary needs to cause more turnovers period. Corey Graham had eight tackles and was second on the team in tackles, that should not happen from a nickle corner. Campbell is not a good quarterback, he is a journeyman and to allow him to have a 116.6 qb rating is not good. Grade C
Overall: This team needs to cause more turnovers and stop teams late. The extended drives they are allowing are killing the Ravens. The Ravens have a good defense but teams have been able to wear them out. Grade B
Special Teams: Tandon Doss muffed a punt and it set up the Browns for a score, never good but Doss has been sure-handed all season. Doss and Jacoby Jones were great on all other returns and have become a very good duo. Sam Koch and Justin Tucker were solid on kicks. Grade B
Coaching Staff: Something needs to change on the offensive line, it is killing the Ravens. The offense can not win without an offensive line period, it hurts Flacco and the running game. Grade C
