Ravens and Monroe agree to terms: UPDATED
The Baltimore Ravens and tackle Eugene Monroe have agreed to terms, according to Aaron Wilson. Keeping Monroe was one of the Ravens top goals this off season.
Monroe came to the Baltimore Ravens in this trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars early in the 2013 season. Monroe Started every 11 games for the Ravens at left tackle.
The Ravens offensive line had a tough season but Monroe was one of the steady members of the line, protecting quarterback Joe Flacco’s blind side. The Ravens chose not to use the Franchise Tag on Monroe earlier this off season. Monroe has family in the Baltimore area and it is a good fit for him to stay long term.
More details to come as more information is available.
Here is the tweet from Wilson about the deal.

A five-year, $37.5 deal for Monroe seems like a good compromise for both sides. Initial thought was he’d get around 8.5 per year.
