Orioles continue to struggle on the road
Fresh off of a series victory over the Detroit Tigers, the Orioles had to have been feeling good about themselves. The Angels were 0-6 vs the AL East, Shohei Ohtani was hobbled by an ankle injury, and the Orioles were getting healthy. Where did it all go wrong? Do these Orioles not believe they can compete against upper echelon teams such as the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox or LA Angels?
Let’s start off with where things went wrong in LA:
The inept and inconsistent offense continued to rear it’s ugly head.
When the pitching is good the offense is bad.
For as great as Manny Machado has been, the team relied on him too much to carry them.
These very same Orioles took three out of four from the Yankees in New York and are getting healthy, but it seems the series victory over the Yankees was an aberration as the Baltimore Orioles have been losing essentially every series since.
The Orioles just have to come to terms with the fact that they are not talented enough to contend and the ‘getting the most out of his guys’ mentality Buck Showalter brings is long gone. The team appears to be stagnant and with each passing day we draw closer to a complete overhaul of the Baltimore Orioles.
