Allegany College of Maryland celebrated a historic milestone at its Spring 2026 commencement held in May at Bob Kirk Arena in Cumberland, Md., with a record 34 student-athletes graduating, surpassing the previous high of 32 set in Spring 2025.
Record-Breaking Graduating Class Reflects Athletic and Academic Success
The graduating student-athletes represented six different sports, including baseball, softball, soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, and cross country. They earned degrees and certifications across a broad range of academic programs such as Applied Technical Studies, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Nursing, Computer Science, Multimedia Technology, Legal Studies, and General Studies.
Several graduates were inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, recognizing scholastic excellence alongside athletic commitments.
