They're In! Maryland Baseball Makes NCAA Tournament for First Time Since 1971
Maryland baseball made the NCAA tournament for the first time in 43 years on Monday. After coming in second in the ACC Tournament, the Terps will head to Columbia, SC.
Maryland earned the second seed in the Columbia regional, and they will take on Old Dominion in their first game on Friday. South Carolina, the host, and Campbell are also in the regional. If the Terps can advance, they will face the winner of the Charlottesville regional, which consists of Virginia, Arkansas, Liberty, and Bucknell, in the Super Regionals.
In the regional, the goal is to avoid double elimination. When a team loses their second game, they are eliminated from the regional. The last team standing advances to the Super Regionals, which is a best two out of three series.
