Washington College women’s soccer fell to Widener, 2-0, on Sept. 9 at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in Chestertown, Maryland. Widener scored once in each half to improve to 3-0-1, while Washington College dropped to 2-2-0 in non-conference play.
Widener Scores in Both Halves
Dafny Vasquez recorded Washington College’s first shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the Widener goalkeeper made the save. Widener took a 1-0 lead at 38:25 when it scored off a corner kick, and that remained the score at halftime.
Gina Everitt had a chance to equalize in the 67th minute, but the Widener goalkeeper stopped her attempt. Widener added its second goal with 8:05 remaining on a chipped shot from the right side.
Washington College Records Seven Shots on Goal
Washington College finished with 19 shots and four corner kicks. The Shorewomen recorded seven shots on goal, while Widener finished with five.
Widener received goals from Alexa Ayala and Allison Gomez. Mia Garofalo assisted on Ayala’s goal.
Washington College Goalkeepers Combine for Three Saves
Rylee Louden played 68:25, made one save and allowed two goals. Olivia Allen played the final 21:35, made two saves and allowed no goals.

Washington College will travel to Hood in Frederick, Maryland, on Saturday, Sept. 12, for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
