ROME, GA — The Frederick Keys defeated the Rome Emperors 10-2 in the series opener at AdventHealth Stadium on July 21, 2026. The victory marked the Keys’ third consecutive win, fueled by a powerful offensive display highlighted by four home runs, including three in a crucial eighth inning surge.
Trimble’s Leadoff Homer Sparks Frederick
Reed Trimble began his second Minor League rehab stint with Frederick on a high note by hitting a leadoff home run in the first inning, giving the Keys an early 1-0 lead. The Emperors responded with an RBI groundout in the third inning to tie the game at 1-1. Colin Tuft then put Frederick ahead with a two-RBI double in the fourth inning, extending the lead to 3-2, despite Rome scoring a run later that inning on an RBI sacrifice fly.
Aloy’s Multi-Homer Performance Powers Keys
Wehiwa Aloy was the offensive standout, launching a two-run homer in the fifth inning that helped push the lead to 5-2. An additional run scored on a wild pitch, extending Frederick’s lead to 6-2 entering the sixth inning. Aloy added a third home run to the Keys’ total during a four-homer outburst in the eighth inning, which also featured homers from Braylin Tavera and Ike Irish. This offensive explosion increased the lead to 10-2.
Strong Relief Secures the Win
Jacob Cravey delivered a flawless 1-2-3 inning in relief during the seventh to maintain Frederick’s four-run lead. Joe Glassey closed out the game in the ninth inning by retiring the side in order, securing the victory for the Keys.
