Frederick Keys Defeat Rome Emperors 10-2 in Series Opener at AdventHealth Stadium

ROME, Ga. 91 The Frederick Keys secured a 10-2 victory against the Rome Emperors in the opener of their six-game series on Tuesday night at AdventHealth Stadium. The win marked the Keys’ third straight triumph, highlighted by a four-home run performance.

Reed Trimble started strong for Frederick, hitting a leadoff home run in the first inning during his second Minor League rehab assignment. The Rome Emperors tied the game in the third inning on an RBI groundout, but Colin Tuft put the Keys ahead again with a two-RBI double in the fourth inning. Rome responded with an RBI sacrifice fly later in the inning, leaving the score at 3-2 in favor of Frederick entering the fifth.

Wehiwa Aloy powered the offense with a two-run home run in the fifth, increasing the lead to 5-2. The Keys added another run on a wild pitch, bringing the score to 6-2. Pitcher Jacob Cravey delivered a 1-2-3 inning in relief during the seventh, maintaining the lead.

The Keys exploded for three home runs in the top of the eighth inning, hit by Braylin Tavera, Ike Irish, and Aloy, boosting their lead to 10-2. Joe Glassey closed out the game in the ninth inning by retiring the side in order, sealing the win.

The Frederick Keys will face the Rome Emperors again on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. at AdventHealth Stadium for the second game of the series.
