OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Stevenson University’s women’s golf program continues to prove that success extends well beyond the course.

Five Mustangs were recognized by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) as 2025-26 WGCA All-American Scholars, highlighting the program’s commitment to academic excellence. Sophomores Alexis Marsh and Nisachon Sillence, junior Sydni Sundstrom, and first-year student-athletes Callie Dias and Carissa Dargenio all earned the prestigious honor. Marsh and Sillence were recognized for the second consecutive season.

The WGCA announced that 1,551 women’s collegiate golfers from every NCAA division and the NAIA received All-American Scholar recognition this year, making it one of the largest academic honors in collegiate golf.

A Prestigious National Honor

Earning WGCA All-American Scholar status is no easy accomplishment.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.50 grade-point average, remain on the team’s roster through the completion of the season, compete in at least 50 percent of the team’s regularly scheduled rounds through the conference championship, and maintain amateur status. The criteria are considered among the most demanding academic standards in collegiate athletics.

For Stevenson to place five golfers on the list demonstrates the culture head coach Chris Vossler has established within the program.

Alexis Marsh Continues Academic Excellence

Sophomore Alexis Marsh earned her second consecutive WGCA All-American Scholar selection.

Marsh has become one of the program’s leaders on and off the course, consistently balancing the demands of collegiate golf with outstanding classroom performance. Receiving the honor in back-to-back years reflects her consistency and dedication.

Nisachon Sillence Earns Repeat Recognition

Joining Marsh as a repeat honoree is sophomore Nisachon Sillence.

Sillence has continued to develop into an important contributor for the Mustangs while maintaining the academic standards necessary to earn national recognition for the second straight season. Her ability to excel in both athletics and academics speaks to the discipline required to compete at the collegiate level.

Sydni Sundstrom Adds Another Achievement

Junior Sydni Sundstrom also earned WGCA All-American Scholar honors after another impressive year balancing academics and golf.

Upperclassmen often play a leadership role within collegiate programs, and Sundstrom’s recognition reflects her commitment to representing Stevenson with excellence in every aspect of the student-athlete experience.

Outstanding First-Year Success

Perhaps most impressive is the recognition earned by freshmen Callie Dias and Carissa Dargenio.

Making an immediate adjustment to college academics while competing in collegiate golf can be challenging, yet both first-year golfers met the demanding qualifications to earn national honors in their debut seasons.

Dias enjoyed an outstanding rookie campaign that included being named the MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year, helping lead Stevenson to another successful season.

Their recognition suggests the Mustangs have a strong young core capable of building sustained success over the coming years.

Excellence Beyond Competition

The WGCA All-American Scholar Team celebrates more than athletic performance.

The award recognizes student-athletes who have embraced the true mission of collegiate athletics by excelling in the classroom while competing at a high level.

Stevenson’s five honorees demonstrated that championship-level preparation extends beyond the golf course and into lecture halls, laboratories, and study sessions.

A Bright Future for Stevenson Women’s Golf

With two returning repeat honorees and two freshmen already earning national academic recognition, the future remains bright for the Mustangs.

The program continues to recruit student-athletes who excel academically while contributing on the course, creating a culture built around discipline, leadership, and excellence.

As Stevenson looks ahead to the 2026-27 season, these five student-athletes have already demonstrated what it means to represent the university with distinction both competitively and academically.
