The Washington Spirit traded forward Gift Monday to Boston Legacy FC for $500,000 in transfer threshold funds and a 20 percent sell-on clause, the clubs announced Oct. 8, 2026. The clause will give the Washington Spirit a future return if Boston Legacy FC transfers or trades Monday to a third club.
Monday joined the Washington Spirit in March 2025 after transferring from Spain’s UD Tenerife. She appeared in 48 total matches for Washington across all competitions, recording 12 goals and three assists.
Gift Monday’s Washington Spirit impact
Monday helped the Washington Spirit reach the NWSL Championship last season. She scored two goals at Audi Field during the NWSL Playoffs as the Spirit returned to the league championship.
