The Washington Spirit are one of the premier professional women’s soccer clubs in the United States and an original member of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Founded in 2012, the Spirit represent Washington, D.C., Maryland and the surrounding DMV region while playing their home matches at Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
The Spirit have developed into one of the NWSL’s most successful and recognizable franchises. Washington captured the 2021 NWSL Championship and has remained a regular championship contender, including consecutive appearances in the NWSL Championship leading into the 2026 season.

The momentum continued into 2026 with multiple early-season sellouts and record demand for tickets.
