The Washington Spirit Hello Kitty® Day matchday guide includes event activities, transportation information and a halftime 7v7 friendly before the Washington Spirit hosts Bay FC at Audi Field on Sunday, August 30.
The matchday schedule lists gates opening at 11:00 a.m., warm-ups beginning at 11:45 a.m. and kickoff at 12:30 p.m. The Washington Nationals have a game Saturday at 12:15 p.m. ET, so fans may see increased traffic in the Buzzard Point area before and after the match.
Washington Spirit Matchday Schedule and Entry Information
Spirit Supporters Groups will meet at Dacha Beer Garden at 11:00 a.m. ET for the March to the Match. The group will head to the traffic circle at S. Capitol Street and Potomac Avenue before walking to Audi Field and entering through Gate A at 11:45 a.m. ET.
Kids Table will perform at the Spirit Stage inside Gate A at 11:00 a.m. ET. Ryan Flood will perform the national anthem, and the MPD Honor Guard will provide the color guard.
Robin Taylor of DC Scores will serve as the CareFirst Community Captain. Felismina Andrade, director of external communications and community relations at Giant Food, will serve as honorary captain. Jeanne Konicki of the Latin American Youth Center will be honored through District Diaries, presented by Events DC.
Bags must be smaller than 14 inches by 14 inches by 6 inches. Backpacks, coolers and luggage are not allowed. Fans with medical needs or diaper bags should contact Audi Field’s Guest Experience team and use Gate B to expedite entry.
Hello Kitty® Day Activities at Audi Field
Hello Kitty® Day activities in Spiritville will include face painting, coloring sheets, friendship bracelet-making and a photo moment at the Hello Kitty-branded SPIRIT letters.
The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive a reversible Spirit x Hello Kitty bucket hat. One Lucky Row will win Hello Kitty prizes during the match, which also will include Hello Kitty trivia and a Hello Kitty Friendship Cam.
Maury Elementary and LFCU will play a 7v7 friendly match at halftime, presented by Lafayette Federal Credit Union. The Heineken Rooftop will be open before kickoff and throughout the match.
Merchandise and Postmatch Access
The Hello Kitty x Spirit Scarf will be available at Audi Field during the match. Merchandise locations include Spiritville, Section 130, the Club Level and Section 119.
Fans who drop off a jersey by 12:30 p.m. ET on August 30 can receive same-day customization with any Spirit player’s name and number. Fans with online orders for in-stadium pickup should use the designated line at the Spirit Shop in Spiritville and have their order confirmation number ready.
After the match, only Premium ticketholders in sections F1-F12, C1-C9 and S1-S31 may access sections F1-F12 along the east sideline. General ticketholders seeking access closer to the field after the match can use sections 135-138.
Transportation and Accessibility
Fans are encouraged to use Metro, including the Green or Yellow lines to Navy Yard-Ballpark. Audi Field is accessible from the Navy Yard-Ballpark and Waterfront stations, while parking is available at the Anacostia station, one stop away on the Green Line.
An ADA shuttle will run on a continuous 15- to 30-minute loop from the west entrance to the Audi Field Club Shop. Service begins one hour before kickoff and ends one hour after the match.
Two Wheel Valet will store bicycles at the southwest corner of the stadium at 2nd and T streets. The valet opens when gates open and will remain open at least one hour after the match.
The KultureCity Sensory Room is located on the Heineken Rooftop. Sensory bags with noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools and verbal cue cards are available at Guest Services while supplies last.
