Washington Spirit Near a Potential Playoff Berth
The Washington Spirit can secure a place in the NWSL playoffs during the trip to Houston. After an international break, the club is scheduled to return to Audi Field for a District v. Empire rivalry match against Gotham on Oct. 17.
After clinching a playoff berth, the Washington Spirit expect to host a quarterfinal match at Audi Field during the opening round from Nov. 6-8. The 2026 NWSL Championship is scheduled for Audi Field on Saturday, Nov. 21, in primetime on CBS.
Washington Spirit Set Attendance Record
The Washington Spirit welcomed 19,215 fans for the match against Angel City FC, recording the club’s fourth sellout of the season. The attendance milestone helped the club surpass 200,000 fans through the gates during the regular season.
That total established a new single-season club record and marked the first time in Washington Spirit history that the club reached 200,000 regular-season fans. The club finished the previous season at 189,000 fans and now ranks third in the NWSL in total attendance.
Club Plans Playoff Ticket and Partnership Activity
The Washington Spirit have several partnership proposals in the market tied specifically to playoff inventory. The proposals create the potential for incremental revenue during the postseason.
Playoff tickets are scheduled to begin with an exclusive presale for season ticket members on the Monday after the Washington Spirit clinch a playoff spot. The presale will give season ticket members the first opportunity to purchase playoff tickets.
Championship Week Scheduled for Washington, D.C.
Championship week is scheduled to include the NWSL Awards on Nov. 18, the Skills Challenge on Nov. 20 and Fan Fest in Washington, D.C. The 2026 NWSL Championship will follow at Audi Field on Nov. 21.
