CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Washington College women’s soccer played Rutgers-Camden to a 0-0 tie Wednesday night at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium. Rylee Louden recorded the lone save of the non-conference match, helping Washington College improve to 3-2-1. Rutgers-Camden moved to 3-0-2 with the draw.
Washington College Women’s Soccer Creates Chances
Washington College nearly scored at the 7:32 mark of the first half when Lily Barnum put a shot toward the lower-left corner from about 15 yards. A Rutgers-Camden defender cleared the attempt before it crossed the goal line. Grace Morris also had a shot saved by the Rutgers-Camden goalkeeper in the 18th minute after a corner kick.
Rutgers-Camden’s final first-half shot went wide left with 14:59 remaining, while Gina Everitt had Washington College’s final attempt of the half with 3:10 to go. The teams entered halftime scoreless. Washington College finished with 11 shots and three corner kicks.
Louden stopped Rutgers-Camden’s final chance with 11:31 remaining in the second half. Kaileigh Brady took the game’s final shot for Washington College with 37 seconds remaining, but it went wide left. Louden finished with one save, allowed zero goals and played all 90 minutes.
Washington College Women’s Soccer Hosts Albright
Washington College will host Albright on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m. in a non-conference women’s soccer contest. The match will be played at Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in Chestertown, Md.
