Washington College Sailing competed at the ILCA South Regatta held at The Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, finishing 17th and 18th overall. Austin Latimer secured 17th place with 198 points, while Matthew Nadolny followed closely in 18th with 213 points.

Latimer’s best performance came in race five, where he finished 14th. Nadolny completed the regatta in 18th place overall.
Variable Wind Conditions Impact Racing Schedule
The first day featured a 5- to 10-knot southeasterly breeze across the mouth of the Severn River, with all races categorized as W4s. A black flag disqualification (BKD) was issued in the ILCA fleet following a broken top section on the ILCA boat during race five.
Sunday’s racing commenced in a light westerly wind that never strengthened sufficiently to conduct races. Later, a 4- to 5-knot northerly wind allowed for two ILCA races and three completed FJ races; however, the second FJ race was abandoned after the wind weakened. An easterly wind reaching 8 knots later enabled the completion of two additional races. Another BKD was granted following a tiller-extension universal failure that occurred inside the tube in an area not subject to prior inspection.
