Washington College Sailing recorded 17th- and 18th-place finishes at the ILCA South Regatta at The Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Austin Latimer finished 17th with 198 points, while Matthew Nadolny placed 18th with 213 points.

Latimer’s best finish was 14th place in race five. Nadolny finished 18th overall with 213 points.
Changing Wind Conditions Affect Racing
The first day was sailed in a 5- to 10-knot southeasterly breeze in the mouth of the Severn River. All races were W4s, and a BKD was awarded in the ILCA fleet after a broken ILCA top section in race five.
On Sunday, a light westerly did not become strong enough for racing. A 4- to 5-knot northerly later allowed two ILCA races and three completed FJ races, while the second FJ race was abandoned after the wind weakened.
An easterly later reached 8 knots and allowed two more races to be completed. Another BKD was awarded in the ILCA fleet after a tiller-extension universal broke inside the tube in an area that could not be inspected beforehand.
Washington College Sailing Scheduled for Kingsmill Cup
Washington College Sailing is scheduled to compete next at the Kingsmill Cup in Williamsburg, Virginia, on September 19 and 20.
