Washington College Women’s Golf Names Heidi Pearce Head Coach
Heidi Pearce will lead the Shorewomen as the head coach of Washington College’s women’s golf program. The appointment was confirmed by Thad Moore, associate vice president and director of athletics. Pearce will focus on recruiting and growing the women’s golf program while continuing to serve as athletics advancement officer.
Pearce’s Background and Coaching Experience
This marks Pearce’s 12th year at Washington College. She formerly served as director of alumni engagement and transitioned to athletics advancement officer this summer. Earlier in her career at the college, Pearce was head women’s lacrosse coach and earned Centennial Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2014 and 2018. In her first lacrosse season, she led the Shorewomen to an 11-5 record, the program’s best in 11 years, and achieved a No. 17 national ranking.
A former student-athlete at Johns Hopkins University, Pearce was the first in program history to earn NCAA Division I First Team All-America honors. She was inducted into the Johns Hopkins Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016 and the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame in 2018. Pearce has lifelong ties to golf and the Chestertown community as a 44-year member of Chester River Yacht and Country Club, a former CRYCC Women’s Club Champion, and a competitor in Women’s Peninsula Golf Association competitions.

I am excited to grow the program and create an experience where young women can develop as students, athletes, and leaders.”
Pearce will work alongside PGA professional Dan Philippon, who will continue to provide golf instruction and support Washington College’s golfers.
