Washington College men’s soccer goalkeeper Calvin Field earned his first Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week award for the week of Sept. 21-27, 2026.
The junior from Woodstock, Conn., who attended Woodstock Academy, recorded his first two career shutouts and made 15 saves during Washington College’s 1-0-1 week. Washington College defeated visiting York (Pa.) 2-0 on Sept. 22 before playing Dickinson to a draw on Sept. 26.
Calvin Field Records 15 Saves in Award-Winning Week
Field made a career-best nine saves against York (Pa.) and recorded his first clean sheet. He made four saves in the second half, including three while Washington College held a 1-0 lead.
Against Dickinson, Field made six saves. With 23:41 remaining, he stopped a shot headed for the upper right corner to keep the match tied and help Washington College secure the draw.
This marked the first time Field won the Centennial Conference’s weekly award. It was also the first time Washington College men’s soccer earned the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week honor since Hannes Budde won the award on Sept. 9, 2025.

Washington College men’s soccer is scheduled to face Franklin & Marshall on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. The remaining listed schedule includes a visit to No. 25 Haverford on Oct. 3 and matches against Johns Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Swarthmore, Ursinus and Gettysburg.
