Washington Capitals Sign Brian Pinho to a Two-Year Entry Level Contract

The Washington Capitals singed Brian Pinho to a two-year $833,750 contract. He was drafted in the sixth round in 2013, and the North Andover Massachusetts native has spent his last four years playing for Providence College.

Pinho was team captain for the Friers producing 32 points in 40 games this year. During his four years Pinho had a combined 115 points in 156 games during his career at Providence.

Pinho has a lot of potential to be a top six player at some point during his career with the Capitals, but it is highly unlikely he’ll be in a game this year with two games left in year before playoffs. His best chance of making the lineup before the season is over is if coach Berry Trotz believes he is ready, not only that but if the Washington Capitals officially clinch there seeding by Saturday’s game against the New Jersey Devils Pinho could play so Trotz can rest his better players.
