University of Maryland Eastern Shore Women’s Golfer Baylei Sandford and Cross Country and Track and Field’s Rihanna Gayle Selected for 2026 NCAA Legacy Lab

University of Maryland Eastern Shore student-athletes Baylei Sandford and Rihanna Gayle have been selected to participate in the 2026 NCAA Legacy Lab. The four-day workshop will take place Sept. 10-13 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Sandford competes in women’s golf, while Gayle competes in cross country and track and field. Gayle is a junior, and Sandford is a sophomore, making both eligible for a program designed for student-athletes interested in entrepreneurship and opportunities beyond college athletics.

University of Maryland Eastern Shore Student-Athletes Selected for NCAA Program

The NCAA Legacy Lab will feature interactive workshops, mentorship and opportunities to explore name, image and likeness, business development and socially responsible entrepreneurship. The program is designed to help sophomore and junior student-athletes prepare for opportunities beyond college athletics.

Gayle and Sandford will connect with fellow student-athletes and mentors while developing skills related to future careers and entrepreneurial pursuits. The NCAA will cover their travel, lodging, meals and program materials throughout the four-day experience.

Legacy Lab Runs Sept. 10-13 in Indianapolis

The 2026 NCAA Legacy Lab begins Thursday, Sept. 10, and concludes Sunday, Sept. 13, in Indianapolis. Sandford and Gayle will represent University of Maryland Eastern Shore during the program.
