The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Department of Athletics added Percival Poyser to its athletic communications staff, according to an announcement issued Sept. 28, 2026. The University of Maryland Eastern Shore women’s bowling program published the announcement as Poyser joined the department in Princess Anne, Maryland.
Poyser will help strengthen the Hawks’ storytelling efforts and expand how Maryland Eastern Shore Athletics showcases its student-athletes, coaches and programs. He joins the department after spending two years as a graduate assistant in the Delaware State University Media Relations office.
Poyser brings Delaware State communications experience
At Delaware State University, Poyser served as the primary communications contact for men’s basketball, women’s tennis, men’s and women’s cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field, and triathlon. He also contributed to content creation across Delaware State Athletics.
Poyser supervised Project Sting, a student content program focused on athletics promotions and MEAC partnerships. The role added student development experience to his media relations responsibilities.
Creative work spans collegiate and nonprofit athletics
Poyser previously served as a graphic design intern with Position Sports, where he produced and assisted with creative content for the Hoophall Classic, Las Vegas Bowl, Las Vegas HBCU Classic and Nike Girls EYBL.
He also serves as Creative Director for D1 Showcase, a nonprofit organization. Poyser has produced more than 200 graphics and helped promote the stories of more than 150 athletes through the organization.
At D1 Showcase, Poyser introduced the organization’s “Beyond the Clipboard” series, which highlights behind-the-scenes perspectives from college and high school coaches.
Two-time Delaware State graduate joins Maryland Eastern Shore
Poyser earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management from Delaware State University in 2024 and a master’s degree in sport administration in 2026. He is a two-time graduate of Delaware State University.
