Three Towson Tigers Earn CAA Preseason Recognition as Football Season Nears
TOWSON, Md. — Expectations continue to build for Towson football entering the 2026 season, as three Tigers have been recognized in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Preseason Honors announced Wednesday during CAA Football Media Day.
Offensive lineman KJ Brooks was selected to the CAA Preseason All-Conference Team, while quarterback Andrew Indorf and long snapper Daniel Anderla earned CAA Preseason All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition. The honors are voted on by the league’s head coaches and reflect the respect Towson has earned heading into the fall after finishing the 2025 season on a strong note.
Brooks headlines the group after establishing himself as one of the CAA’s top offensive linemen. His leadership and consistency up front will be critical as Towson looks to improve one of the conference’s most balanced offenses.
Indorf’s preseason recognition comes after an impressive freshman campaign in 2025. The Miami native was named the CAA Co-Offensive Rookie of the Year after throwing for 2,344 yards, 16 touchdowns and just four interceptions, earning three CAA Rookie of the Week honors while helping stabilize the Tigers’ offense. He became one of the league’s rising stars and now enters 2026 as one of the conference’s premier quarterbacks.
Special teams also received recognition with veteran long snapper Daniel Anderla earning honorable mention honors. Reliable long snappers rarely receive public attention, but consistency in the kicking game often proves to be the difference in close CAA contests.
The conference preseason poll placed Towson sixth with 93 points, behind defending champion Rhode Island, Monmouth, Elon, New Hampshire and Stony Brook. The Tigers finished 6-6 overall and 4-4 in conference play in 2025, closing the season with victories in their final two games. Towson has now finished .500 or better in CAA play in six of the last seven fall seasons, providing optimism that another step forward is possible in 2026.
Head coach Pete Shinnick’s squad will lean on experienced leadership, a returning starting quarterback and a veteran offensive line as it looks to contend in one of the nation’s toughest FCS conferences.
With preseason honors already rolling in, the Tigers have established a solid foundation entering training camp. The challenge now becomes turning preseason recognition into postseason success as Towson pursues a return to the FCS playoffs.

Towson has one of the conference’s most intriguing quarterbacks in Andrew Indorf, and having a proven offensive lineman like KJ Brooks protecting him gives the Tigers a chance to surprise people this season. If the defense can take another step forward, Towson has the pieces to climb higher than its sixth-place preseason projection and compete for a spot near the top of the CAA standings.
