Salisbury University announced its seven-member Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026, honoring contributors from men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, track and field, softball, football, baseball and golf.
The Salisbury University Department of Athletics and Campus Recreation will recognize Jim Berkman, Sam Bradman, Luke Campbell, Bethany (Baer) Codd, Kim Dorsey, Kyle Hamby and Paula Wagasky during Homecoming and Family Weekend. The formal banquet and ceremony is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. at the Guerreri Academic Commons.
Salisbury University Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026
Jim Berkman coached Salisbury University men’s lacrosse from 1989 through 2026 and recorded 678 wins, a .902 winning percentage and 13 national championships. He also founded Salisbury University women’s soccer, guiding the program to a 102-28-5 record, two Capital Athletic Conference championships and an NCAA Tournament quarterfinal appearance in 2000.
Sam Bradman finished his Salisbury University men’s lacrosse career with 201 goals, 304 points and 103 assists. He helped the Sea Gulls win three Capital Athletic Conference championships and national titles in 2011 and 2012, earning Most Outstanding Player honors in the 2011 national championship game.
Luke Campbell won 11 NCAA Division III national titles from 2013 through 2016. Ten came in hurdling events, while the other came as part of Salisbury University’s indoor 4×400-meter relay team in 2016. Campbell was a 16-time All-American and qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics, where he represented Team Germany.
Bethany (Baer) Codd helped Salisbury University women’s lacrosse win four Capital Athletic Conference championships and national titles in 2013 and 2014. She finished with 148 career draw controls and 114 ground balls and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
Kim Dorsey was a three-year starting shortstop for Salisbury University softball and hit .426 for her career. She graduated with 34 home runs, seven triples, 160 runs and 144 RBIs. Dorsey helped the Sea Gulls win two Capital Athletic Conference titles, reach four NCAA Tournaments and make three consecutive Division III World Series appearances from 2013 through 2015.
Kyle Hamby competed in football and baseball at Salisbury University. He finished as the Sea Gulls’ career leader in punting average at 40.8 and holds the school record with an 84-yard punt. In baseball, Hamby finished as the program’s all-time leader in saves with 15 and helped Salisbury reach four NCAA Tournaments and back-to-back College World Series appearances in 2014 and 2015.
Paula Wagasky was the first woman to play on a men’s varsity team in Salisbury State College history and became a decorated early member of Sea Gull golf. She won Middle Atlantic Women’s Amateur titles in 1973 and 1974, qualified for match play at the 1975 U.S. Women’s Amateur Golf Championships and competed in three AIAW National Golf Championships. Wagasky played professionally for five years and continues to hold a teaching professional position at Buffalo Grove Golf Club near Chicago.
Salisbury University Hall of Fame banquet details
The banquet will take place at the Guerreri Academic Commons during Homecoming and Family Weekend. Admission is $40 for current Salisbury University Hall-of-Famers, $50 for all other guests and $10 for children. Ticket prices include a small donation to the Maroon & Gold Club, which supports Salisbury University varsity student-athletes.
Salisbury University competes in NCAA Division III and holds primary membership in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference. The university also has affiliate memberships in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, Coastal Lacrosse Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference and Colonial Women’s Golf Conference.
