Recap: Nationals lose to Red Sox,8-4


The Washington Nationals lost to the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday in spring training action. The Nats’ record now stands at 6-5. The Red Sox record is now 6-5.

Max Scherzer pitched a very strong three innings for Washington. Scherzer allowed 4 hits and 4 strikeouts while pitching. Vidal Nuno struggled while pitching 2 innings and had only one strikeout. Sammy Solis a Nationals relief pitcher pitched 1 inning and had 2 strikeouts.

Offensively, the long ball ruled for Washington. Belting out singles, as a team by Aaron Noll, Austin Voth.

Defensively, the bottom of 6th inning had a little action as Austin Voth singled to the left, and Aaron Noll singled to the center. In the middle of the third inning, infielder Howie Kendrick reached on infield single to the third.

Tomorrow, the Nationals will face the New York Mets at 1:05 in West Palm Beach. Pitching tomorrow for the Nationals will be Stephen Strasburg.
