Ravens sign Cox waive Davis
The Baltimore Ravens have signed cornerback Derrick Cox and waived undrafted wide receiver Jace Davis, the Ravens announced today. The Ravens top three cornerbacks have been out with injuries and the Ravens needed to add depth there. The Ravens already lost Aaron Ross for the season and have Jimmy Smith, Asa Jackson and Lardarius Webb on the mend.
Cox was a former third-round pick out of William and Mary by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2009. Cox has spent time on the Jaguars, San Diego Chargers and Minnesota Vikings. Cox has 13 career interceptions and can help provide some depth if he shows that he can have consistent play. Right now Cox needs to prove to the Ravens that he can still play corner. Cox is by no means a lock to make the Ravens 53-man roster.
