Ravens report card versus the Browns: the offense
The Baltimore Ravens beat the Cleveland Browns 14-6, lets take a look at how the offense did.
Quarterback: Joe Flacco’s numbers have not been great so far this season but he is playing well. Also consider the fact that Flacco missed the birth of his second child. Flacco went 22 for 33 for 211 yards and one touchdown. Flacco’s final quarterback rating was 94.4. Grade B+
Running backs: Ray Rice is struggling and left the game early with an injury. Enter Bernard Pierce who was much more effective. Pierce had a touchdown and ran for 57 yards on 19 carries. Both Rice and Pierce averaged 3 yards or less rushing. Rice needs to be more effective in the passing game like he has in the past. Grade C
Receivers: Torrey Smith is Flacco’s best and most effective weapon his seven catches for 85 yards shows that. Marlon Brown has been a huge find and had four receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown. Dropped passes were again a problem for Ed Dickson who is in the dog house now. Dickson was only targeted once and failed to catch it. Brandon Stokley was big on third downs, each of his receptions were in big moments. They are a little off but most of the receivers are new, they will improve by the game. Grade B+
Offensive line: This unit needs to get better they only allowed two sacks but they need to work better as a unit. More running lanes would help the run game. Grade C+
Overall: The unit itself just needs to mold together. It takes time they are all new to the system. Grade C+
