Ravens report card: The offense 12/14/2014
The Baltimore Ravens beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 20 to 12 in a game in which the Ravens offense did not have the ball much in the first half. A blocked punt that the Ravens returned for a touchdown and an onside kick by the Jaguars kept the ball out of Joe Flacco’s hands.
Quarterback: Joe Flacco put together another solid game and if he had more opportunities in the first half I am sure the Ravens would have scored more. Flacco completed 20 out of 30 of his passes for 221 yards and a touchdown. Flacco also had a big 10 yard run. Grade A
Running backs: The Ravens running game really struggled and only managed 93 total yards on the ground. The Ravens were dominated up front and did not give Justin Forsett many running lanes. A rare bad game by the running backs. Bernard Pierce did have a long 28 yard run late in the game. Kyle Juszczyk fumbled early in the game. Grade D
Receivers: Marlon Brown was the Ravens best receiver with five catches for 66 yards. Brown was strong after the catch and provided the Ravens with a big boost. Owen Daniels also had a good game with four catches and a touchdown. Steve Smith Sr. was also involved with five catches. This unit is still having drop problems but they are playing better each week. It is a good sign to see Brown getting action. Grade B+
Offensive line: The offensive line is still getting penalties which have killed Ravens drives. The line struggled run blocking but kept Flacco clean. The line needs to clean up some things but they have been much better. Grade C+
Overall: It is hard to say the Ravens offense struggled because they could never really get into a rhythm in the first half. Flacco lead the Ravens to a win today on offense. Grade B
