Ravens place Turner on IR sign Edwards from practice squad
The Baltimore Ravens have placed running back De’Lance Turner on injured reserve and have signed running back Gus Edwards from the practice squad.
Turner suffered a hamstring injury and were short at running back so the Ravens needed to make a move. Turner was signed up after Kenneth Dixon was placed on injured reserve. Turner saw limited playing time as the third running back.
Edwards played well in the preseason.
Here is the Ravens release.
RAVENS ROSTER MOVES
The Baltimore Ravens Saturday elevated rookie RB Gus Edwards from the practice squad to their 53-man roster and placed RB De’Lance Turner (hamstring) on Injured Reserve.
During the 2018 preseason, Edwards led the Ravens with 174 rushing yards on 53 attempts. He also tallied three catches for 34 yards.
Edwards originally signed with Baltimore as an undrafted free agent this past May. He spent the first four years (2013-16) of his collegiate career playing for the Miami Hurricanes and then transferred to Rutgers as a fifth-year senior in 2017. In total, he rushed for 1,690 yards and 18 touchdowns on 350 career attempts (4.8 average), also posting 16 receptions for 156 yards and one score.
