Ravens Make Several Roster Moves Ahead of Week 18
The Baltimore Ravens take on the Cincinnati Bengals in the regular season finale this Sunday. With Lamar Jackson sidelines once again Tyler Huntley is expected to make his fifth straight start.
Huntley has was limited in practice this week with tendinitis in his throwing shoulder and is listed as questionable. Due to Huntley’s availability for the entirety of Sunday’s game in question the Ravens elevated practice squad quarterback Brett Hundley to the 53-man roster. Undrafted rookie Anthony Brown will back up to Tyler Huntley.
Defensive lineman Rayshod Nichols was also elevated to the active roster. Nichols had four tackles in last Sunday’s loss to the Steelers.
Wide receiver Tylan Wallace and cornerback Daryl Wolrey were activated off of injured reserve. Due to Worley and Wallace’s activations off IR, the Ravens waived veteran receiver DeSean Jackson and veteran tight end Nick Boyle.
Jackson was absent this week from practice with an illness and was not expected to play on Sunday. Since his signing back in November, Jackson had just nine receptions for 153 yards. Boyle who signed a three-year deal with the Ravens in 2019 has struggled to return to form since suffering a devastating knee injury in 2020. Boyle has not caught a pass in 2022.
The future status for both Jackson and Boyle on the Ravens roster moving forward into the playoffs is unknown at this time.
