Salisbury University Field Hockey, Football, Men’s Swimming, Women’s Swimming and Men’s Soccer earn national rankings as five Sea Gull programs appear in the Roadie Joes Rankings announced Oct. 7. Salisbury University field hockey ranks sixth
Salisbury University field hockey slipped two spots to No. 6 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll dated Oct. 6. The Sea Gulls entered the ranking at 8-2 after going 2-1 during the week.
Salisbury dropped a 2-1 double-overtime decision to York (Pa.) before opening State University of New York Athletic Conference play with road wins at Oswego State, 1-0, and SUNY Morrisville, 7-1. The Sea Gulls outshot the Lakers 33-0 and never allowed a shot in Saturday’s opener, then scored four times in a 95-second span in the second quarter on Sunday.
The Sea Gulls will host Oneonta in conference play Sunday at 11 a.m. at Sea Gull Stadium.
Salisbury University football moves to No. 12
Salisbury University football climbed one spot to No. 12 in the D3football.com Top 25 for Week 5. The Sea Gulls remained undefeated at 4-0 after rallying from a 9-0 first-quarter deficit to defeat The College of New Jersey, 21-9, in the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener.
Salisbury scored all three touchdowns on the ground. Quarterback SyRus McGowan led the Sea Gulls with 95 rushing yards, while the team totaled 228 rushing yards in the victory.
Salisbury will host Rowan in a New Jersey Athletic Conference Homecoming game Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. at Sea Gull Stadium.
Salisbury University swimming programs enter top 20
Salisbury University men’s swimming ranked No. 17, while women’s swimming ranked No. 18, in the CSCAA Division III Top 25 Dual Meet Poll for September 2026. The rankings marked the first time either Salisbury swimming program had been nationally ranked to begin a season.
The men’s team received 123 points, and the women’s team received 122 points. Both programs will open their regular seasons at Division II West Chester on Saturday, Oct. 24, travel to Rowan on Oct. 31, and host The College of New Jersey on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. inside Maggs Pool.
Salisbury University men’s soccer enters NCAA Power Index
Salisbury University men’s soccer entered the NCAA Power Index at No. 28 in the Oct. 4 ranking. The Sea Gulls carried an 8-1-2 record and extended their unbeaten run to three games.
Salisbury played No. 9 Catholic to a scoreless draw before defeating Mary Washington, 2-0, for its first win in Fredericksburg in 11 years. Tanner Calzado scored the game-winning goal, while goalkeeper Clif Nehman made five saves and recorded his third consecutive clean sheet.
The Sea Gulls will host Johns Hopkins Wednesday at 4 p.m. before welcoming St. Mary’s (Md.) Saturday at 4 p.m. for Senior Day at the Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex.
