Ravens cut Cox
The Baltimore Ravens have announced that they have cut cornerback, Derek Cox. Cox was cut earlier during the big round of cuts before the 53-man roster was announced but resigned shortly afterwords. The Ravens cut Josh Bynes to make room for Cox and Bynes signed to the Ravens’ practice squad.
Bynes is a good candidate for the Ravens to re-sign and bring back on their 53-man roster. He’s been with the Ravens his entire career and would not miss a step. Bynes would be able to contribute to the Ravens’ special teams right away as well.
Cox became expandable when the Ravens’ cornerbacks started getting healthy. In the preseason Asa Jackson and Jimmy Smith were hurt and it really affected their depth. The team signed Cox to add to the depth but since the Ravens are now healthy at that position, they no longer need Cox.
