Orioles Storm Back in Wild 6-5 Walk-Off Win Over Blue Jays

The Baltimore Orioles looked dead in the water Saturday night at Camden Yards. Down 5-1 entering the ninth inning, Baltimore somehow ripped off one of the craziest comebacks of the 2026 season and stunned the Toronto Blue Jays 6-5 on a walk-off single from Pete Alonso.
Camden Yards felt quiet for most of the night. Baltimore stranded runners, hit into double plays and wasted a strong outing from rookie starter Brandon Young. Toronto carried a 5-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth and looked ready to hand the Orioles another crushing loss. Then everything changed.
Toronto closer Jeff Hoffman opened the inning with a strikeout, but Baltimore refused to quit. A hit batter started the rally before the Orioles stacked together clutch at-bats, hard contact and patient plate appearances. Taylor Ward helped ignite the comeback, and the Orioles suddenly loaded the bases with the crowd roaring again.
The Orioles tied the game after back-to-back walks and a series of pressure-packed plate appearances against a collapsing Blue Jays bullpen. Then Alonso stepped to the plate with one out and the bases loaded.
The veteran slugger lined a sharp single into center field to score Ward and complete the unbelievable comeback. Camden Yards exploded as Orioles players poured out of the dugout to mob Alonso near first base.
Alonso finished the night as the hero, but Brandon Young deserved plenty of credit for keeping Baltimore alive early. The rookie right-hander worked 6 2/3 innings and battled through traffic most of the night while the Orioles offense struggled to cash in opportunities.
Toronto built its lead behind timely hitting from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Kazuma Okamoto. Guerrero collected four hits, while Okamoto drove in two runs with a big double during the middle innings. The Blue Jays appeared in complete control before the Orioles flipped the game upside down in the ninth.
Albert Suárez earned the victory after throwing a scoreless top of the ninth inning. Baltimore snapped a two-game skid and delivered one of its most emotional wins of the season.
