The Baltimore Orioles have optioned pitcher Evan Meek to triple-A Norfolk and are going to recall pitcher Brad Brach from Norfolk. The Orioles taxed their bullpen yesterday while playing a double-header and need a fresh arm.

Meek started the season off pitching strong but lately he has struggled and his era has rose to 6.94, which is not good. Brach has not pitched that great in Norfolk but he will give the Orioles an extra arm. Brach has a 4.85 era while pitching in 12 games for the Tides.

Orioles option RHP Evan Meek to Triple-A Norfolk

Following Thursday night’s game, the Orioles announced that they have optioned RHP EVAN MEEK to Triple-A Norfolk.

 

Meek, 30, appeared in 12 games for the Orioles, going 0-1 with a 6.94 ERA (11.2IP, 9ER).

 

A corresponding move will be announced tomorrow.
