Orioles DFA Gregg, Adams recall Hoes and Chavez

The Baltimore Orioles have designated Kevin Gregg and Ryan Adams for assignment and recalled L.J. Hoes and Endy Chavez. Gregg has been used as a mop-up man all season posting a 4.74 era. Ryan Adams has played with the Norfolk Tides all season, the Orioles AAA affiliate.

I thought the Orioles might call-up L.J. Hoes after Nick Markakis went down, Hoes hit .300 in his first season at AAA. Hoes is a speedy player and can bring some excitement to the Orioles. Hoes is a local kid from Bowie.

Endy Chavez has also been called up from the Tides. Chavez has failed to hit at any level this season and will be a defensive backup. Chavez has only hit .149 at Norfolk this year.
