Orioles and Nationals are in the top five of ESPN's Power Rankings
The Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals are both in the top five of ESPN’s Power Rankings. The Nationals are at number three after having two straight sweeps and the Orioles are number five again. The Orioles would probably be ranked higher than the Nats if the Nats did not have such a good week. The Orioles have only lost two series since the All-Star Break and have a four and one record against the Nats.
Only two AL teams are above the Orioles in the Power Rankings, they are the LA Angels and Oakland Athletics. The Orioles placement is again well deserved as they are one of four teams with 70 wins or more.
The Nats placement is also well deserved as they are just on fire right now and have won six straight. The Nats have gotten a lot of clutch hitting.
It is little glimpse of repsect that the National Media gives the local teams that I love to point out.
