No. 9 Maryland Lady Terps fall in a tough loss against No. 6 Indiana
Thursday night The No. 9 Maryland Women’s Basketball team went on the road and faced a tough No. 6, Indiana team, and the six game winning streak was snapped 68-61 at Assembly Hall.
This was tough loss but it had the making of a potential march matchup down the season but there is a lot that showed in this game.
The Key Takeaways
What happened?
Low Scotring, Slow start offensivly will not win any games against Big Ten oppenent. As cohensive unit the Lady terps scored a low seven point in the second quarter one of seven from the field. Coach Frese has to find ways to create good shots, credit Indiana’s defenese checked Diamond Miller, Shyanne Sellers, and Abby Meyers to a combined 37 points that simply can not happen.
Diamond Miller can not continue to have slow starts!
Again Diamond Miller is Top 5 WNBA draft prospect, she is fourth in Big Ten Scoring however, Diamond can not continue to have slow starts especailly when the others around Diamond with the exception of Brinae Alexander, there a period of time where Indiana’s defense made it tough for Diamond get a rhythem, and see did heat up but a poor second quarter, and no else in the starting to pull you out of a deflict it’s going to hurt the terps come March.
Indiana all round offense slowed flaws for the Terps
Indiana has four starters in double figures that is unacceptable as without post defense, the length and size at times showed for Maryland, and that is red flag going forward as the team is starting to face teams with size and post presense.
