Mount St. Mary’s University men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete in the JMU XC Invitational on Friday, September 25, at New Market Battlefield in New Market, Virginia. This meet will be the third of five scheduled competitions for the Mount St. Mary’s this year.
JMU XC Invitational Meet Details
The women’s 5K race is scheduled for 5:45 p.m., followed by the men’s 8K race at approximately 6:30 p.m. The meet will take place at New Market Battlefield, located at 57 George Collins Parkway in New Market, Virginia.
Coming into the meet, Mount St. Mary’s competed recently at the Stevenson Invitational. The Mount St. Mary’s men’s team finished fourth with 119 points, while the women’s team placed second with 62 points.
Chloe McCarthy and Jack Nebbia Post Top-Three Finishes
At Stevenson, Chloe McCarthy finished second overall in the women’s 5K with a time of 23:27.86. Jack Nebbia placed third overall in the men’s 8K in 27:20.03.
Nuria Escurado, Riley Bell, Audrey Musmeci and Ella Swart scored points for the women’s team, while EJ Villaver, Nic Willis, Chase Rosenfeld and Gio Medrano contributed points for the men’s squad.
Mount St. Mary’s Cross Country Schedule
The next competition for Mount St. Mary’s will be the JMU XC Invitational. Following that, the team will compete at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational on Saturday, October 17, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
