Milkman Delivers in Orioles Sweep of the Red Sox

The Baltimore Orioles have put the rest of the AL East on notice by sweeping the Boston Red Sox in a three-game series. The “Milkman” Colton Cowser has officially arrived and made sure that his name will be etched in every O’s lineup going forward. Also in Boston, the long-awaited arrival of MLB’s number one prospect Jackson Holliday is finally over. He made his debut in the O’s game two victory 7-5 and flashed the leather at second base. With the series sweep the Orioles are now in second place in the AL East eying that first-place crown yet again.

Rally caps are always on

Every time the Baltimore Orioles look down and out of a game the offense puts up a fury of runs. The O’s so far this season have six come-from-behind victories which is the most in all of the MLB this season. In game two’s victory, the Orioles’ offense was stale only picking up one hit through five innings until they exploded for three runs in the sixth inning and four runs in the seventh. Jordan Westburg had himself a day going 2-3 with both hits being extra-base hits. Westburg’s home run in the seventh was the final push the O’s needed to quiet the Boston crowd.

Moooore Please

Colton Cowser has cemented himself as the new everyday outfielder for the Baltimore Orioles. Over the three-game sweep, Cowser drove in ten runs while hitting his first and second big league home runs in the third game of the series. His elevated play also propelled the O’s to the 9-4 victory injecting life into the team down early in the game when he hit his first career home run. Gunnar Henderson struggled early striking out three times before stepping up to the plate in extra innings and launching an opposite-field homer run over the Green Monster in Fenway giving the O’s a 5-3 lead. The Orioles never looked back tacking on four more runs in the extra frame.

A Holliday in Baltimore

Jackson Holliday didn’t have the immediate success many fans were looking for but with the Milwaukee Brewers in town, he has the opportunity to shine. Holliday will be suited up against another fellow top prospect Jackson Chourio who is ranked number two right behind Holliday. Jackson Holliday is sure to be greeted with a thunderous welcome by O’s fans all weekend. Whenever he knocks in his first big league hit, Birdland will stick beside him as he is the future of the franchise and the last piece of what many believe could be a dynasty brewing in Baltimore.
