The Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association selected the Northeastern Maryland Officials Association crew as its September Football Crew of the Month. All six crew members are part of NEMOA, and the Baltimore Ravens have partnered with the MPSSAA to recognize high school football officials and their service to student-athletes.
The crew will be invited to a Baltimore Ravens event and recognized for its efforts. The MPSSAA announcement highlighted the officials’ work in officiating, instruction, mentorship and organizational leadership.
Northeastern Maryland Officials Association crew members recognized
Ken Gardner serves as a crew chief, mentor, assignor and defender. He advocates for, supports and develops junior and peer officials in Harford County.
Steve Daniels serves as an at-large representative for the applicant and transfer group of junior officials in NEMOA Football. He teaches rules, officiating principles and attributes that contribute to the success of officials and the organization.
Dave Montgomery serves on the NEMOA executive board and as liaison with the Cecil County Junior Football League. Steve Warner commonly functions as a referee or crew chief, mentors officials and advises the Football Vice President and NEMOA president.
Michael Flosser has officiated previous state semifinal and final football games and is being developed as a referee or crew chief. Brandon Neff serves as a principal trainer, producing and presenting training materials related to rules and mechanics while working multiple on-field crew positions, including referee and crew chief.
