The Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association named Gilman football player Aidan Johnson and Gerstell Academy soccer player Simon Oluyemi its Athletes of the Week for competition from Oct. 19-24, 2026.
Aidan Johnson Delivers on Both Sides for Gilman
Johnson rushed 21 times for 201 yards and two touchdowns in Gilman’s 28-6 win over Concordia Prep. He also started at free safety and recorded three interceptions.
Simon Oluyemi Scores Five Goals
Oluyemi scored three goals against Mount Carmel and added two more against Saints Peter & Paul. Those performances earned him recognition as one of the MIAA’s weekly honorees.
