Kuznetsov providing a spark for Capitals
Evgeny Kuznetsov has provided a spark for the Washington Capitals since he was signed to his entry-level contract shortly after the winter Olympics. Kuznetsov was eased into NHL action on the fourth line but quickly moved up the ranks.
Already so far in seven games Kuznetsov has five assist, his passes are crisp and on the tape. Kuznetsov is very creative with his passes and is big enough to skate through some checks.
What the stats do not show you is that Kuznetsov is now two for two in shootout attempts, his latest shootout attempt helped the Caps beat the San Jose Sharks. Kuznetsov has been close to scoring several times already this season.
The Capitals still have a lot of work to do to make the playoffs. The Caps are right in the hunt after getting five out of six points on their three game west coast road trip. Kuznetsov’s addition has really helped, I think he will become a star of the Caps by next season.
