Jones, Wieters, Cruz are All-Stars

The Baltimore Orioles have been represented well in the past couple of All-Star games and this season they will repeat that.  Adam Jones, Matt Wieters and Nelson Cruz have been elected as All-Star starters.  Wieters will obviously miss the game due to his Tommy John surgery.

Cruz is the most deserving of the bunch, Cruz has hit 27 home runs and has had an average around .300 all season.  Cruz will be the DH of the All-Star game.

Jones got off to a slow start but has been on fire and has a .310 average with 16 home runs.  Jones got on fire as the weather started getting warmer.

Wieters started the season on fire but went down early with an elbow injury.  Wieters was putting up career numbers before his injury.

The Orioles could still have more All-Stars, Darren O’Day and Zach Britton may make it as pitchers.  O’Day and Britton have been lights out while pitching out of the bullpen.

Update: Looks like Britton and O’Day got snubbed. They so far are not on the All-Star team, things can change however.
