Johns Hopkins men’s water polo sophomore Matthieu Giauque was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation East/Delfina Player of the Week after helping the Blue Jays to a 3-1 weekend. The honor marks the first conference award of Giauque’s career and highlights his significant contributions on offense and defense during the recent stretch of games.
Giauque recorded 10 goals, two assists, 16 drawn exclusions and three steals during the weekend. Johns Hopkins has now produced the conference player of the week nine times since joining the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in 2025.

Giauque tied his career high with five points against Mercyhurst, scoring three goals and adding two assists. He also drew a career-best six ejections and recorded two steals in the match. He followed that performance with three goals and four drawn kickouts against Fresno Pacific. Then, Giauque scored two goals and drew four exclusions in the loss to George Washington on Sunday morning. He closed the weekend with two goals, two drawn kickouts and one steal against Gannon.
