Is Conor McGregor unretiring?
Article by Alex Benda:
Conor McGregor has been in the headlines the past few days with a twitter war between former pro boxer Paulie Malignaggi, and current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The former champion who recently retired has appeared to still have interest in fighting after he recently announced his retirement.
Conor first went after Malignaggi after Malignaggi slapped Conor’s training partner Artem Lobov at a gym in New York City for a Bare Knuckle Boxing promotion. Conor then tweeted out a punch of photos showing how bad he beat Malignaggi in a sparing session last year before the McGregor vs Mayweather fight.
Conor then went after current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov who he recently lost to die to a submission poking fun of his religion. Khabib is a devout Muslim, and Conor showed some bigotry over it. Conor posted these tweets making fun of Khabib’s wife.
Conor later tweeted a apology and deleted the tweets. Conor at the end of his last tweet said, “See you in the octagon.” Does that mean he’s back?
I believe so, Conor defiantly wants a rematch between Khabib, but Dana White probably wants Conor to fight someone else first, and hope he wins to set up this epic rematch.
Here are McGregor’s tweets
Don’t be scared of the rematch you little scurrying rat.
